Vascular Access Specialty Day is October 5. Our aim—and the aim of vascular access specialists throughout the world—is to spread the awareness for the specialty and advocate for safer care. After all, it’s not just vascular access specialists that need to be knowledgeable: vascular access impacts nearly every aspect of patient care.

- Visit the Association for Vascular Access for ways to get October 5 recognized in your local or state government. As creator of Vascular Access Specialty Day, they have a number of ways to celebrate in style.
- Join our photo contest and showcase you or your team. You could win a goody basket, a VA-BC™ plaque, or a free VA-BC™ exam or recertification application!
- This year’s prompt: “If I was in charge, how would I improve the workplace for clinicians and patients so that we can celebrate Vascular Access Specialty Day every day?”
Awareness
- Get social: Share about your day with your online community using one of the graphics below.
- Post it: Download a 11in x 17in poster design here to print out and hang up in your institution.
- Bonus: some are customizable, allowing plenty of space to write the names of your vascular access specialists or leave sticky notes on the page to say thank you to your team.
